I woke up this morning to two inches of snow! I am in heaven. It's sunny, cold, snowey, and wintery. I love it! I look forward to winter days like today as much as I look forward to thunderstorms and windy spring days. I brought my bran new christmas coffee mug to work today. I plan to fill it with holiday cheer and Hot Cocoa! I wish I had the day off so I could go play in the snow!
I spent, as I alluded to before, Saturday at a baby shower in Maryland. A good friend of mine is having a baby in January. I think she will pop sooner, but I will keep that to myself...and you. shhh... Anyhow, she made out at the shower. Just watching her makes me want to have another baby. The bitty socks, the pjs with animals on the feet, the little hats, the tiny diapers...it's all so cute. I miss the days when I could put my baby down and he would stay where I left him. My baby was 14 months old yesterday. He keeps getting bigger, more agile, faster, and funnier by the day. I love him. Time...it's keeps moving forward. With a toddler there is no time to look back. It will be fun to have a newborn around. We plan to have more kids, but my husband wants to wait a little while. Perhaps when he holds the new baby it will make him want to have another one sooner.
Well, have a snowflake day and a cup of hot cocoa!

Today is ending up being a bit stressful. I went to Wal-Mart for an oil change and decided to get my son his first haircut. It turned out well. Not a tear was shed. We walked around the Christmas stuff and shared a box of animal cookies. What is a stressful you ask? My husband. I can't decide if he is inefficient or just thorough. It's irritating because I am a get it done now kind of person and he wants to "see what they will offer and think about it for a few days" kinda person. As you can imagine, clashes ensue. The day will end and a new one will begin soon. On the bright side, my son looks SOOOO handsome...he always did, now he looks spiffy!

Tax Cut...on the dotted line
Today I heard some interesting news regarding Obama's tax plan. Have you been confused by all the tax talk? Who will get taxed? Who will see a tax cut? What taxes are we talking about?Apparantly, even the democratic party has no idea what income bracket is the cut off. We are all familliar with the "if you make less than $250,000 a year you will not see a tax increase" rhetoric. Well, this weekend in a speach Obama said it is $200,000. To make matters more confusing, Biden, in a speach yesterday, said that tax cuts should go to the middle class, people making less than $150,000 per year. They can't even get on the same page...how will they get the country on the same page?
Not to mention, all these tax cuts and extra spending...paid for by whom? I vote to keep what you earn, no matter if it's $25,000 a year or $2.5 million.

On the family front, I didn't want to confess this Mommy slip up so I have waited to blog about it. I did the dummest Mommy thing ever on Monday. I literally dumped my 1 year old son out of his stroller onto the floor. We were at the mall and we just left the plaground. He was tired so I just plopped him in his seat and took off through the mall. We were walking around a store and I forgot he wasn't strapped in and I lifted the back tires up to maneuver around some merchandise and "thump"...he was on the floor screaming. The aftermath? Me...a red face. Him...a little bump and a yellow bruise. Luckilly he didn't hit anything sharp and there was carpet to cushion the blow. This stuff only happens to me...I swear.
Update: He is fine.
